Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management

We help any size business demystify WHS compliance by building confidence to engage in conversations with workers and customers about how they are managing WHS in their business.

Relating to Effectively Managing WHS

We started to build our WHS solution around existing practices and found that when matched to the relevant requirements of the 2011 legislation we realised that the key to have an effective WHS management system (enable compliance) and increase business operations efficiency’s required a total re-think.

Problem

Why has WHS been so confusing?
Paper based WHS management systems cannot serve the current and future needs of business and governments. These systems focus on the inputs (policies and procedures) and leave a business stranded with regard to meeting new WHS targets and expectations (outcomes). They have outlived their role in helping businesses meet their WHS obligations. In fact it can be said that the only way paper based systems and the associated experts have contributed is to give WHS a bad reputation within companies and across industries.

System re-design

We started to build our WHS solution around existing practices and found that when matched to the relevant requirements of the 2011 legislation we realised that the key to have an effective WHS management system (enable compliance) required a total rethink. The criteria was simple, we had to develop a system that could make it easy for a business to transform inputs (policies and procedures) into outcomes. The new system and tools had to empower workers and produce evidence that would satisfy the courts (compliance) if necessary.

Innovation

History has shown that any system or product reaches a viable stage of development where it cannot be improved anymore. Improvement of a product or system is based on small incremental changes to improve the performance or acceptance of the original design. The limiting factor is how far the original design can be improved before going back to the drawing board to design a new product or system. MYSKILLSmanager went back to the drawing board.

Engage & Empower Workers

The way to demystify WHS is to engage a system and tools that can be supported by management and used by all workers on a day-to- day basis and be recognised as being a key function in every job role.
